Meet Usability Expert Alan Colville

We're growing again! Please give a warm welcome to Alan Colville, experience designer and usability aficionado.

Alan Colville

Alan designs the end–to–end user experience for products and sites. He was formerly the head of customer experience for BT Vision. Prior to that he was a senior commercial manager for digital TV at Telewest Broadband (now part of Virgin Media) where he designed the video on demand and personal recorder services used by millions of people.

Alan’s passionate about user centred design and and the impact it can have on products, websites and the business processes around them. He’s not long returned from traveling the world with his family to start his own consultancy, Ezyas. When we met him recently, his open personality and energy around his work was inspiring. We think he’s a great person to know, as well as being an expert in usability and information architecture with a breadth of expert experience that is hard to equal. We knew he’d be a great addition to the collective so we invited him to join us straight away. Luckily he accepted.

You can read more about Alan in his profile or contact Alan directly to chat about the real value user centred design can bring to a project. This is what Gavin Patterson, Group Managing Director of BT Consumer, has to say about him:

Having worked with Alan Colville on many occasions, it’s always been a pleasure. He has the unique ability and insight to deliver products that people love, but it’s his personality and straightforward approach that makes the experience fun.

Expect to see Alan’s impact almost immediately with insights into practical usability and user experience design coming soon in articles. Welcome, Alan!
