CSS Mania World Web Design Awards 2006 List Two Of Our Web Sites

Wow. It's very humbling to even have one web site mentioned in CSS Mania's 2006 Awards, nevermind two!

CSS Mania is arguably the largest gallery of world-wide web sites built using Web Standards. It was originally founded by Gabriel Segura and now has over 3,800 web sites in it’s archives.

Judges for the CSS World Awards 2006 included renown author, speaker and Web Standards advocate Molly Holzschlag as well as star designers Andy Budd, Cameron Moll and Roger Johansson.

Two Sites

Two of our web sites have won awards in two different categories! London Pain Consultants was awarded second place in the Institutions design category and our very own web site was awarded second place in the Web Design (Companies and Portfolios) category.

Happy Days!

Many thanks to the judges and CSS Mania for even mentioning our work. As I said in the comments for the Gr0w.com review in Stylegala, I consider myself more an interface designer than a graphic desginer and focus on usability and accessibility. To even be mentioned among some of the fantastic designs CSS Mania holds is very humbling and fortunate.

We’re even more pleased to be amongst such excellent work from all the other web sites featured. They are all amazing designs in their own right. If there was one comment I would make it would be a wish to see even better accessibility practice applied by the whole Web Standards design community. The rub of visual expectations and accessible content in a default design layer will no doubt still trouble all designers for some time to come, myself included. However, CSS Mania is a constant source of inspiration and I heartily recommend you browse the full galleries for a glorious visual picnic.
